Standing on the Stetchworth Toll roundabout near to the entrance to the Newmarket July Racecourse, the Newmarket Stallion was the idea of Prof. Twink Allen of the Equine Fertility Unit in Newmarket.  It is a 15ft tall bronze depicting a stallion rearing up beside its handler, and was created by Lady Marcia Astor and Allan Sly and erected on 4th October 2000.
